Fresh pineapples are very delicious, but how nutritious are pineapples? Are they nutritious fruits? Yes.
Pineapples are sodium-free, fat-free, and cholesterol-free with only about 30 calories per 1/2 inch slice (2 oz) or 80 calories per 1 cup serving of cut fruit (5.5 oz). Pineapples are also rich in vitamin C, manganese, and high in fiber. In addition to being a great source for antioxidants, pineapples contain Bromelain, an enzyme that helps digest protein.
I want pineapples sweetened on the bush and ready to eat. I can get green ones here. 25 years ago a friend brought back a pineapple from Hawaii and I’ve never in my life before or after tasted anything so sweet. Can I request when they are picked they are yellow and sweetened on the bush to ship to me?
Hi Katrina,
You are exactly right. The reason that our shipped pineapples are so popular is that we pick ripe pineapples after we receive your order. Most of the pineapples in mainland stores are picked about 2 weeks too early and travel by boat and truck. Since pineapples don’t ripen after they are picked, they ones that are picked early don’t taste as good.
You’ve come to the right place for ripe, sweet, delicious pineapples.
